You will need some worsted yarn in red, beige, and white colors, a 5 mm crochet hook, small 4 mm safety eyes, stuffing, and a stitch marker, that’s basically all. No sewing, no stress, and absolutely no excuses not to start this pattern immediately.
The whole toy is made in one piece, first the red mushroom cap, then the mushroom body together with the legs, and after that you just add the mushroom spots and the cute little face. Nothing difficult, beginner-friendly, and using only simple stitches like single crochet, increases, and decreases.

- Black actylic yarn for mouth

Hat
Start with red.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in Mr (8)
Rnd 2: inc x 8 (16)

Color change to beige, you can cut the red yarn here.
Rnd 7: BLO: sc, dec, 6 sc, dec, 7 sc (16)
Do not stuff the hat.
Rnd 8-9: sc around (16)
Rnd 10: 6 sc, BO, 3 sc, BO, 5 sc (16)
Insert safety eyes between R9 and R10, 1 st apart. Embroider mouth between the eyes, about 1 st wide.
Stuff the body firmly but do not stuff the hat.
Body
With beige yarn.
Rnd 11-12: sc around (16)
Rnd 13: 8 sc, (LEG: ch 3 *start in the 2nd ch from hook*, 2 sl st down the ch, sl st back into the same st of the body), 3 sc, *LEG*, 3 sc (16) (the legs count 1 st each)
Rnd 14: sc around (16) (crochet around the legs)
Fasten off and sew the hole closed.
Mushroom Dots
With medium-weight white yarn, embroider dots all over the cap by wrapping the yarn a few times around one stitch.
