Crochet your own cute little crab with this easy amigurumi pattern, perfect to add to your sea animal collection. You will need a 4–5 mm crochet hook and safety eyes to complete this project.

This pattern includes instructions on how to make the crab legs, arms, and body. It uses simple stitches like single crochet, increasing, and decreasing, making it beginner friendly. Once all parts are finished, you just attach the limbs, shape the eyes, and add the safety eyes.

You can customize your crab by using any color you like or adding small details. This crab makes a lovely decoration, a cute handmade gift, or a fun toy for kids.

18 mm safety eyes

Stitch markers

Finish off, then make a third one and connect it with the second one, again with 2 sl st. Make sure you find the two middle stitches of the second part to do so. Don’t finish off.

Rnd 5: 16 sc all around (16)

Finish off. Stuff.

In the next 2 rounds we will join the arms and legs. Make sure to start joining with a st on the side of the arm/leg.

When crocheting them together, place the outer sides together.

Rnd 11: 8 sc through leg and body part, sc, 4 sc through arm and body part, 8 sc, 4 sc through 2nd arm and body, sc, 8 sc through 2nd leg and body, 2 sc (36)

Rnd 12: (2 sc, dec, 3 sc, dec) x 4 (28) – crochet through the normal body part and the leftover st of arms and legs, ignore the 9 and 4 sc connection st from last round. Insert the eyes between rows 8-9 after.
Rnd 13: (2 sc, dec) x 7 (21)
Rnd 14: (sc, dec) x 7 (14)
Rnd 15: 7 dec (7)

Arms: make sure that when you connect the first arm, the smaller part of the claw is on the left. When connecting the second claw, the smaller claw part is supposed to be facing right.

Details

Eye shaping: to create a little more shape and a little nose, pinch the eyes together and sew back and forth, inserting the orange yar right on the inner part of the eye and bringing it out at the inner part of the other eye. Then insert again (use another st close). Repeat some times and pull it as tight as you like.

White eye details: insert the needle with yarn anywhere between the eyes (leave a tail) and bring it out right under one eye. Insert again right on top of the eye. Bring it out on top of the eye, and insert it again under the eye. Bring it to the place where the tail is. Secure the ends with a knot and hide them inside.
