Rnd 14: (6 sc, inc, 6 sc) x 10 (140)
Rnd 15: (13 sc. inc) x 10 (150)
Fasten off the first piece, for second piece continue on step 2.
Before joining the pieces together. You need to decide between two stuffing options:
Option A: simply stuffing your pillow and closing it.
Option B: leaving an opening in order to wash the pillow easily (you have to create/sew a removable pocket that you stuff) (in order to keep the opening close. Few buttons are sewn on).
Joining the Pieces + the Petals
Join the tw pieces togehter:
Rnd 16: 125 sc around through both pieces, 25 sc on one piece (you don’t work in the 25 stitches of the other piece to leave the opening. If you don’t want to leave the opening, if you don’t want to leave the opening, stuff firmly and do the last 2 sc through both pieces to close the pillow) (150)
Change yarn to Yellow.
For a neather color change: sl st in the first st of R16.
Rnd 17: ch 2, 6 dc, dc inc, (14 dc, dc inc) x 9, 7 dc, sl st in the chain (160)
Change to your 12 mm hook, the change of hook is very importan as it gives a natural movement and texture to the petals.
Rnd 18: (sl st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc in 1 st, skip 2 sts, 2 sl st) x 20 (160)
Rnd 19: (skip 1 st, hdc inc, dc inc, (in the same stitch: dc, picot, dc), dc inc, hdc inc, skip 1 st, sl st) x 20
Fasten off, weave in the ends.
Sewing the Buttons
Use minimum 3 buttons.
- On the petal piece: place the buttons to and equal distance from one another.
- Sew them on.
The remainig stitches of the opposite piece are used as loops to tie the buttons.
Make Stuffing Pocket
The use of a sewing machine is recommended but not mandatory. There are diverse ways of making the stuffing pocet, here are two methods:
Use Old T-shirt.
- Sew through both sides of the t-shirt in a round shape to the size of the pillow (brown part) but leave a few-inch opening
- Turn the newly created pocet inside out
- Stuff the pocket firmly
- Sew the opening closed
- Put the pocket inside the pillow
Use a Waterproof Mattress Sheet
- Cut two circles to the size of the pillow (brown part) in the sheet
- Sew both outsides together but leae a few-icnh opening
- Turn the newly created pocket inside out
- Stuff the pocket firmly
- Sew the opening closed
- Put the pocket inside the pillow
Now remove the stuffing pocket whenever it is needed for cleaning.
