Turn the piece, then crochet the border.

Border

Start with color C in the last stitch of the sail and made the first stitch a standing stitch:

sl st + ch, *sl st + ch in next row* x16, *sl st + ch in next loop of foundation chain* x18, *sl st + ch in next row* x1, sl st in starting stitch. Do not fasten off.

Kite Tail

Starting from the last stitch of the border, make a long chain of 31 ch.

Start in 2nd ch from hook and make 1 sl st in each ch on the way back (30 sl st). Fasten off with an invisible join to 1st sl st of the border.

Ribbons

Next, work three ribbons 8 st apart. Use color D and start on the back loop of 1st sl st of the tail:

a) ch 3 + dc + ch 2 + sl st in back loop of sl st
b) sl st in front loop of next sl st
c) rotate the piece 180°: ch 3 + dc + ch 2 + sl st in front loop of same sl st, fasten off.

Finally, cross the yarn tail over the back of the chain and weave in the yarn ends.
