Designer: Happy Lil’Bina

Make your books a little cuter with this adorable cat bookmark pattern! The cat’s head peeks out from the top of the book while the tail hangs down from the bottom. You don’t have to make it black or white either, choose any color you like. Although, why choose just one when you can make several?

All you need is some cotton yarn in your favorite color, a 3.5 mm crochet hook, scissors, and a tapestry needle. Very few materials, but a lot of charm.

This bookmark is made using simple stitches like single crochet, dc, and hdc. You will crochet a few rows to shape the head and ears, then continue with the long tail. It’s beginner friendly and can easily be finished in one cozy evening.

A cat bookmark makes a perfect gift for book lovers and cat lovers alike. You can also make colorful ones for children. Once you start making them, you may end up with a whole stack of cat bookmarks before you know it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Let’s crochet this platypus with a rounded body, flat tail, and small bill. The body and arms are crocheted all in one piece, with the feet, bill, hat, and tail crocheted and sewn on separately.

This is a holder in the form of a koala, which is at the same time practical and charming, just look at these ears and little face.

The series is still trending all over the world, so we are here again with a pattern of the main symbol from the Stranger Things universe. This time it’s a Demogorgon made as a coaster for your mug.

To make this spooky coaster, you will need a 2 mm crochet hook, any yarn you like in 3 colors (burgundy, black, and white for embroidery), stitch markers, scissors, and a tapestry needle.

The stitches used in this tutorial are simple and beginner-friendly, like single crochet stitches, double crochet stitches, half double crochet stitches, and chain stitches.

You can customize this pattern by using different colors to match your home decor, or make a set of coasters as a thoughtful handmade gift for any Stranger Things fan. It’s perfect for spooky season decor, a themed gift, or a fun addition to your Halloween collection.

Designer: Amigulove Atelie

Designer: Foufi’s crochet

Stuffing

Yarn needle

Scissors

Stitch marker

Abbreviations

sc – single crochet
mr – magic ring
inc – increase
FO – fasten off
sl st – slip stitch
st/sts – stitch(es)
ch – chain
dc – double croche
dc inc – double crochet increase
hdc inc – half double crochet increase

Picot stitch:

ch 2

sl st in the back loop of the first chain

The Seeds x2

Use brown yarn.

Rnd 1: 10 sc in Mr (10)
Rnd 2: inc x 10 (20)
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 10 (30)
Rnd 4: (sc, inc, sc) x 10 (40)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 10 (50)
Rnd 6: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) x 10 (60)
Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 10 (70)
Rnd 8: (3 sc, inc, 3 sc) x 10 (80)
Rnd 9: (7 sc, inc) x 10 (90)
Rnd 10: (4 sc, inc, 4 sc) x 10 (100)
Rnd 11: (9 sc, inc) x 10 (110)
Rnd 12: (5 sc, inc, 5 sc) x 10 (120)
Rnd 13: (11 sc, inc) x 10 (130)
Rnd 14: (6 sc, inc, 6 sc) x 10 (140)
Rnd 15: (13 sc. inc) x 10 (150)

Fasten off the first piece, for second piece continue on step 2.

Before joining the pieces together. You need to decide between two stuffing options:

Option A: simply stuffing your pillow and closing it.

Option B: leaving an opening in order to wash the pillow easily (you have to create/sew a removable pocket that you stuff) (in order to keep the opening close. Few buttons are sewn on).

Joining the Pieces + the Petals

Join the tw pieces togehter:

Rnd 16: 125 sc around through both pieces, 25 sc on one piece (you don’t work in the 25 stitches of the other piece to leave the opening. If you don’t want to leave the opening, if you don’t want to leave the opening, stuff firmly and do the last 2 sc through both pieces to close the pillow) (150)

Change yarn to Yellow.

For a neather color change: sl st in the first st of R16.

Rnd 17: ch 2, 6 dc, dc inc, (14 dc, dc inc) x 9, 7 dc, sl st in the chain (160)

Change to your 12 mm hook, the change of hook is very importan as it gives a natural movement and texture to the petals.

Rnd 18: (sl st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc in 1 st, skip 2 sts, 2 sl st) x 20 (160)
Rnd 19: (skip 1 st, hdc inc, dc inc, (in the same stitch: dc, picot, dc), dc inc, hdc inc, skip 1 st, sl st) x 20

Fasten off, weave in the ends.

Sewing the Buttons

Use minimum 3 buttons.

On the petal piece: place the buttons to and equal distance from one another.

Sew them on.

The remainig stitches of the opposite piece are used as loops to tie the buttons.

Make Stuffing Pocket

The use of a sewing machine is recommended but not mandatory. There are diverse ways of making the stuffing pocet, here are two methods:

Use Old T-shirt.

Sew through both sides of the t-shirt in a round shape to the size of the pillow (brown part) but leave a few-inch opening

Turn the newly created pocet inside out

Stuff the pocket firmly

Sew the opening closed

Put the pocket inside the pillow

Use a Waterproof Mattress Sheet

Cut two circles to the size of the pillow (brown part) in the sheet

Sew both outsides together but leae a few-icnh opening

Turn the newly created pocket inside out

Stuff the pocket firmly

Sew the opening closed

Put the pocket inside the pillow

Now remove the stuffing pocket whenever it is needed for cleaning.
